Negros’ CBR Buglas is set to strengthen the Nomads Sports Club Girls Under-17 squad as the two programs join forces for the upcoming Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub Quad Meet scheduled for March 28 to 29, in Imus, Cavite.
Founded in 1914, the Nomads Sports Club, under head coach Shane Cosgrove, will field a reinforced lineup with support from CBR Buglas as they compete against De La Salle Zobel FT, Woodrose FT and BeachHut FC in the annual 11-a-side tournament.
The tournament is expected to serve as a platform for young players aspiring to advance to the collegiate level, with college scouts anticipated to attend the event.
“Coaches from UAAP will be invited to watch. This will be an opportunity for talent identification in the college pathway,” said coach Hans Peter Smit, co-presenter of the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub Quad Meet.
Leading the roster are standout players from the recently concluded 20th Thirsty Cup in Cebu City and the inaugural YLO Cup in Dumaguete City, including MVP Nicole Segovia and champion Jhayne Dalogdog.
They are joined by Kelsye Anub, Elise Montinola, Renee Lomugdang, Shanel Molequin, Kate Verde, Sai Florogo, Ysabel Yasay, Maxene Sison, Marinel Gonzales, Yannah Amar, Nathalie Andres, Lize Ibañez, and Mhaj Descargar.
The team will be mentored by coaches Joshua Fegidero, Jiff Lomugdang and Earl Bona as they prepare for the competition./ASC, WDJ
