An 18-year-old man was killed while his companion was injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in front of a mall along Gatuslao Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay 9 on Thursday night, February 12.
The fatality was identified by police only as 18-year-old alias “Christian,” a resident of Purok Nangka, Barangay 6 in the city.
He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was declared dead.
His companion, identified as alias “Nognog,” who was driving the motorcycle, suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Initial police investigation showed that the two victims were riding a motorcycle when they were shot by still unidentified suspects who were also on board a motorcycle.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Responding authorities recovered two .38 caliber revolvers from the victims during the investigation.
Police are continuing their probe to determine the motive behind the shooting and to identify the suspects who remain at large./CJ, WDJ
