The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) announced that there are currently no monitored drug groups actively operating within Bacolod City, following sustained intelligence monitoring and anti-illegal drug operations.
BCPO Director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica said that the most recent drug group delisted in the city was the Caunda Drug Group, which, based on police assessment, no longer exists or operates in Bacolod.
Coronica also addressed the recent drug operation in Barangay Mandalagan, where authorities seized suspected shabu worth more than P8.8 million.
He clarified that the suspect arrested in the operation was a member of the Bugalon Drug Group, which is not based in the city.
According to the BCPO, the Bugalon Drug Group primarily operates in the southern part of the province and only enters Bacolod when there is an opportunity to conduct illegal drug transactions.
Coronica expressed his gratitude to the police personnel who carried out the operation, citing their dedication and effective coordination in arresting the suspects and recovering a large volume of illegal drugs.
The BCPO emphasized that it will continue its intelligence-driven operations and urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities by reporting any information related to illegal drugs to help keep the city safe and drug-free./CJ, WDJ
