Farm worker dies in accidental electrocution

A 36-year-old farm worker died after he was accidentally electrocuted while carrying equipment at Barangay Caridad in Negros Occidental’s Bago City on Wednesday morning, November 27.

Bago police indicated that the victim, a resident of Purok Kapayas, Barangay Ilijan, was helping transport a hand-tractor motor from a rice field toward the roadside when the accident happened in Purok Lubi 1 at 9:30 a.m.

According to the victim’s co-worker, the man unintentionally touched a hanging electrical line that stretched from the road toward a nearby residence.

The contact caused him to suffer an electric shock, causing him to collapse into a canal.

The victim was rushed to the Bago City Hospital for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician./CJ, WDJ
