The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested two teenage suspects and seized an estimated P1,020,000 worth of suspected shabu during a dawn operation in Barangay 3 on Thursday, November 27.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) launched the buy-bust operation at around 4:29 a.m. in Purok Cereza South, leading to the arrest of two young residents of the area, identified only through their aliases as 19-year-old Edron and 18-year-old Ethan.
Police said the suspects yielded roughly 150 grams of suspected shabu following the operation.
The CDEU team was led by Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant chief of the unit, under the direct supervision of CDEU chief, Lt. Colonel Antonio Benitez, Jr.
The two will be facing charges for violations of Sections 5, 11 and 26 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a statement, the BCPO reaffirmed its firm commitment to suppress illegal drug activity in the city, emphasizing that sustained operations remain a priority to safeguard communities from drug-related threats./CJ, WDJ
