An 85-year-old woman died after a late-night fire razed her home at Barangay Talubangi in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on Wednesday, November 26.

The Bureau of Fire Protection found the elderly woman dead on the spot following the fire in her home in Ruiz Subdivision, Purok 6.

Upon arrival, responders found the victim’s house engulfed in flames at 8:15 p.m.

Initial police findings revealed that the residence, owned and occupied by the victim and her family, was totally destroyed.

Firefighters worked through the night and officially declared the blaze fire-out at 1:25 a.m. yesterday.

Authorities have yet to assess the estimated cost of property damage.

They have yet to conduct a follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the fire./CJ, WDJ
