A woman allegedly linked to the distribution of illegal drugs across several barangays in Bacolod City was arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded an estimated P884,000 worth of suspected shabu yesterday.
The 56-year-old suspect, identified only as “Nang,” was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer at Purok Kagaykay in Barangay 2.
Authorities seized around 130 grams of suspected shabu during the operation.
Recovered items included one sachet used as the buy-bust item, six additional sachets, two knot-tied sachets, the marked P1,000 buy-bust money, and other non-drug paraphernalia.
The operation was launched following intelligence reports from a confidential informant identifying the suspect’s active involvement in drug activities in Barangays 2, 3 and Banago.
The suspect is detained at Police Station 2 pending the filing of appropriate charges.
PRO-NIR said the operation underscores its intensified campaign to curb illegal drugs across Negros Island, emphasizing that law enforcement efforts will continue without letup.
“The commitment to dismantle drug networks remains firm. No individual engaged in illegal drug activities will be beyond our reach,” PRO-NIR said in a statement, assuring residents of sustained and coordinated anti-drug operations to safeguard communities./CJ, WDJ
