Bacolodnon Aleia Aielle Aguilar continued her remarkable rise in international jiu-jitsu, securing her fourth world crown after dominating the Kids 2, Girls Gi, 22-kg A Class (gray belt) division of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-jitsu Championship (AJP).

The eight-year-old Bacolodnon standout posted a convincing 3-0 win over United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Sarah Abuhijleh in the finals, capping another impressive campaign on the global stage.

Aguilar reached the championship bout by submitting Maitha Almas, also of the UAE, via armbar in their semifinal encounter.

Her latest triumph adds to a growing list of achievements for the young Filipina, who comes from a family deeply rooted in martial arts.

She celebrated the victory alongside her father, Alvin Aguilar, regarded as the pioneer of mixed martial arts in the Philippines.

“I’m so thankful to God that I won again,” Aguilar said, expressing gratitude to supporters as she soaked in the moment at the Madubala Arena.

“Thank you all, especially those who have been giving me encouraging words before this event,” she added.

The Abu Dhabi tournament is considered one of the premier stages in the sport, attracting top competitors from around the world and holding prestige within the Brazilian jiu-jitsu community.

Aguilar attributes her success to steady focus and consistent training.

“I focus on every move. Be patient in practice because that is the key to winning,” she said.

The victory keeps Aguilar unbeaten for the year, following her conquests at the IBJJF Pan Kids Championship in Orlando and the Marianas Open in Guam.

She now owns world titles in both IBJJF and AJP competitions, reinforcing her status as one of the brightest young talents in jiu-jitsu./ASC, WDJ
