Construction worker stabbed dead

A 32-year-old construction worker was killed after he was stabbed multiple times by three unidentified men at Barangay Tagukon in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on Wednesday night, November 12.

Police identified the victim as Almaril Martinez Jr., a resident of Purok Tugas in the village.

According to a police report, Martinez was reportedly playing mobile games at the Barangay Tagukon Public Market at 9:30 p.m., when three unknown male assailants suddenly attacked him without provocation.

His wife, 33-year-old Angeline, who witnessed the stabbing, said her husband was caught off guard and unable to defend himself.

Martinez sustained multiple stab wounds on different parts of his body and was rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The city police are currently conducting an investigation to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the attack./CJ, WDJ
