The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has assured the public that prices and supply of basic necessities and prime commodities across the region remain stable amid the effects of Typhoon “Tino.”

DTI field offices in the region are closely monitoring supermarkets, grocery stores and other retail outlets to ensure adequate stocks of essential goods and strict compliance with suggested retail prices (SRPs).

The agency also warned against overpricing, hoarding and other unfair trade practices.

To maintain sufficient inventory levels in the region, DTI continues to coordinate with manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.

The agency reminded consumers to avoid panic buying and to practice responsible purchasing to help keep market stability and ensure that supplies remain available to everyone during emergencies.

It added that reports of overpricing or unfair trade practices may be filed through the nearest DTI office or via the DTI official Facebook page. (PIA-6)
