The Police Regional Office in the Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) will deploy a total of 900 security personnel across Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental to ensure peace and safety during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on November 1 and 2.
PRO-NIR Director Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay said the deployment will include members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and volunteer groups.
Security operations will be conducted from October 29 to November 3, covering key areas such as cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, churches, transport terminals, ports, and major thoroughfares.
Ibay added that security coverage includes 186 cemeteries, memorial parks and columbaria; 23 bus stations; three airports; and 20 seaports.
A total of 226 police assistance desks and 56 motorist assistance centers will also be established to assist travelers and motorists.
Ibay reminded all deployed personnel to strictly adhere to PNP operational procedures, exercise maximum tolerance, and uphold respect for human rights in all engagements.
Meanwhile, the public is urged to cooperate with law enforcement authorities, observe security protocols, and report any suspicious activities or unattended items to the nearest police station.
“These coordinated efforts are meant to ensure that everyone can observe Undas safely and peacefully,” Ibay said./CJ, WDJ
