Alec Stockton and Juan Gomez de Liaño led eight Converge players in double-digit scoring as the FiberXers ran past the Terrafirma Dyip, 125-108, in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup on Wednesday, October 22, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

De Liaño had 17 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his second triple-double of conference, earning Best Player of the Game honors, as Stockton top-scored with 22 points, making three triples to go with five assists.

MJ Garcia had 15 markers, while Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar delivered double-double figures, anchoring the rebounding department while contributing for the offense.

Arana had 13 points and 12 rebounds, Baltazar registered a 12-11 statline, and Schonny Winston chipped in 14 points at a 50-percent clip to go along with five assists.

Converge expanded its roster, signing new players in John Lloyd Clemente, Larry Muyang, and Archie Concepcion.

They immediately made their presence felt, as Clemente and Muyang delivered 10 markers each.

Converge coach and Pampanga Vice Governor Delta Pineda said he reminded each and every one to step up — and those words materialized on the hardcourt.

“Ni-remind ko po sila kanina, everyone na coming from the bench needs to step up. Every time na mag-pull out ako from the bench, they need to step up,” said Pineda.

This was a bounce-back win for the FiberXers after losing against the TNT Tropang Giga, 103-110, in Ilocos Sur.

On the other hand, the Dyip have absorbed their second loss in three games, although they were coming from an upset win against NLEX, 97-91.

Jerrick Ahanmisi had 16 points, while Louie Sangalang had 15 markers to pace Terrafirma. (ABS-CBN News)
