A rent-a-car shop in Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub was attacked with a grenade early yesterday morning, leaving the owners and their two children shaken but unharmed.

Police said the incident occurred when still unidentified suspects, who were reportedly riding a motorcycle, threw multiple grenades at the premises in Purok Villa, Bangga Salgado around 2:30 a.m.

The shop owner told police that she and her husband were asleep with their two young children inside the shop when the explosions occurred.

“Tatlo ka beses sila naghaboy sang granada, pero ang ulihi lang ang naglupok,” she recounted.

She has no idea about the motive behind the attack.

However, she mentioned that last year, several car units had been rented out and later used in a “budol-budol” scam.

Although the suspects in that case were investigated, no arrests were made.

Police investigators from the Bacolod City Police Office are now conducting a follow-up investigation to identify and track down the suspects.

Authorities are also checking nearby CCTV footage to determine the possible route of escape./CJ, WDJ
