A 12-year-old Negrense footballer has once again brought pride to the country after emerging as a two-time champion in the recently held Borneo Cup in Malaysia.

Renzel Grace Gelsana Gella, a native of Negros Occidental’s Pontevedra town, captured twin titles in the U14 (Born 2011) and U12 (Born 2013) categories during the tournament staged from September 22 to 26.

The rising Filipina standout represented the Philippine squad owned and managed by coaches Tomas Lozano and Selu Lozano.

This latest feat adds to Gella’s growing list of international achievements as she continues to shine on the global stage.

“Victory is God’s, not ours. We win when we let Him lead the fight,” Gella said after their triumphs.

Grateful for the opportunity to compete abroad, the young footballer expressed hope that more international tournaments will further sharpen her skills and bring greater honor to her hometown and the country.
