Victorias City in Negros Occidental will no longer be part of the venues for the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announced.

The development followed discussions between FIFA and the local organizing committee (LOC), which reviewed the logistical and operational demands of the tournament set from November 21 to December 7.

“After a comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, and in light of the ongoing situations, it has been decided that Victorias City will no longer serve as a host city for this edition of the tournament,” the federation said.

The PFF explained that the adjustment was made to streamline preparations and ensure smooth delivery of the inaugural staging of the women’s futsal showcase.

“The adjustment also reflects FIFA and the LOC’s joint objective to streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint, ensuring the most efficient delivery of the event,” it added.

With Victorias City out, PhilSports Arena in Pasig City will now be the sole host of the World Cup.

Despite the change in playing venue, the federation assured that its commitment to the event remains intact.

“The PFF is fully committed to delivering a historic and memorable inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup,” the statement read.

It also urged fans to rally behind the global competition.

“We are eager to showcase the passion of the Filipino people for the sport and invite everyone to celebrate women’s futsal on the global stage in Pasig City,” PFF said.
