Anti-drug operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) led to the arrest of several drug personalities in separate buy-bust operations in Barangays 1 and Mansilingan, resulting in the confiscation of an estimated P1,088,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Operatives of Police Station 7 arrested a drug personality identified only as alias Joefer, a resident of Barangay Mansilingan, during a buy-bust operation at Pana-ad Access Road on September 11.

Authorities seized from him suspected shabu valued at P136,000.

However, the operation took an unexpected turn when a black sedan driven by alias Jesus, also from Mansilingan, accidentally bumped into two police officers, along with the arrested suspect.

All three sustained injuries, while a tricycle in the area was also damaged.

A police personnel was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Both the suspect and the driver are now in police custody for proper charges.

Meanwhile, the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three more suspects in Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1, in another buy-bust operation at 12:55 a.m. yesterday.

The suspects were identified as 28-year-old Judy Hardin, alias Koykoy/Ebol, a resident of Purok Bolinao; 18-year-old James Cordova, alias Wab, a resident of Purok Bolinao; and 22-year-old Mark Aguirre, a resident of Purok Tangigue.

Confiscated from the group were around 140 grams of suspected shabu worth P952,000, along with 31 heat-sealed plastic sachets of the substance, a sachet purchased during the operation, and a marked P1,000 bill used in the transaction.

The suspects face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Police said these successful operations form part of BCPO’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the city./CJ, WDJ
