Two individuals were killed in a fatal motorcycle accident after crashing into the center island along B.S. Aquino Drive in Bacolod City early yesterday morning.

Police identified the victims as 21-year-old motorcycle driver John Denz Casuyon of Purok Mahogany in Barangay Handumanan; and his backrider, Jhon Wennel Dingcong of Purok Totong in Barangay Felisa, both residents of the city.

They were declared dead on the spot after sustaining severe injuries from the crash, authorities said.

According to security guard Alex Baylo, who witnessed the incident, the victims came from the direction of Bangga Ramos and were speeding when they lost control of the motorcycle and hit the island.

Baylo also noted that neither of them was wearing a helmet.

Police are still verifying reports that the victims may have come from a drinking session before the incident.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether alcohol played a role in the crash./CJ, WDJ
