The PLDT High Speed Hitters will battle either Kobe Shinwa University or the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational finals this Sunday, August 31.
Whoever the second finalist is, it’ll be the High Speed Hitters’ last hurdle toward back-to-back titles in the preseason.
And PLDT would accept whoever that is, said coach Rald Ricafort, saying that either Kobe Shinwa or the Crossovers would pose a “big challenge” to them.
“Any naman ‘yun. Any naman na maging kalaban, malaking challenge,” said Ricafort after shackling Zus Coffee, 26-24, 25-17, 25-17, 25-14, on Thursday, August 28, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Given that the Japanese squad and the Crossovers will still battle for the last final berth, the High Speed Hitters have a one-day gap ahead of them.
And Ricafort is delighted to have this, saying that they ought to maximize the two-day break, using the Friday rest to recover and train on Saturday, August 30.
Hopefully, they will be in the best condition just in time for the one-game championship match.
“For the last two games, hindi na kami halos nakaka-ensayo.”
“I mean, ‘yung mga in-between days, mas pinipili namin mag-off. Tapos nagpapapawis na lang kami sa morning,” he said.
“At least ngayon, coming on Sunday, magagawa namin siya pareho. Rest bukas, training Saturday. By Sunday sana, nakatrabaho kami at the same time ‘di kami sana ganun kapagod.” (ABS-CBN News)
