Forty-eight volleyball teams are set to compete in the 2025 Abanse Negrense Grassroots Girls Volleyball Tournament beginning today at the Montalbo Gym in Bacolod City.
According to a media advisory, there are 16 teams each, which were bracketed into four groups of four, competing in the 17-and-under, 15-and-under and 12-and-under categories.
For the 17-under division, the participating teams are Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS), Talisay Elite, SJI, CPU-Iloilo, Sagay City, CSA-B, TVC, Positive Impact-Cebu, Living Stones International School, Ateneo de Cebu, Trinity, Calvary, Snowbound-Silay, La Carlota, One Silay, and School of the Morning Star-Valencia City Bukidnon.
In the 15-under category, the teams are BTTHS, Talisay Elite, SJI, Hinigaran Blazer, Ateneo de Cebu, Trinity, Bobcats, Holy Family, Darnatics, Talisay Floor Defender, USLS-Bacolod, BCNHS, La Carlota, Prime Volleyball Club, NOHS, and Alubijid-Misamis Oriental.
Meanwhile, the 12-under category, will feature BTTHS, SEVC-Hinigaran, Talisay Elite, Ateneo de Cebu, SJI, Darnatics, SSA, Stonekids, Ma-ao, Alpha Foxies, We Are CSAS-Cebu, Trinity, CPU-Iloilo, EELMS-Talisay, Canlaon City, and AEMES-Sagay.
Each team will battle its group mates, with the top seed advancing to the knockout semifinals.
