The Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) softball team is set to embark on an international campaign at the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington, from July 26 to August 3.
Fresh from a bronze-medal finish at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, the team is aiming for redemption as they prepare to face some of the world’s best young squads on the global stage.
Leading the charge is ace pitcher Criszhiel Barlita of Barangay Mandalagan.
The team will open its World Series bid with a double-header on July 27 against strong opponents from the west and southwest regions at Elms Street Park in Seattle, Washington.
The delegation is set to depart for Manila on Tuesday, July 22, for their final preparations before heading to the United States.
Head coach Lizviminda Jalandoni expressed her excitement and optimism about the campaign.
“I’m happy and excited for the kids, and I look forward to seeing them give their all for Bacolod. It’s been years since we last brought home a world title. I want them to experience the thrill of winning on the international stage,” Jalandoni said.
Bacolod last captured the Junior League Softball World Series crown in 2003, and the 2025 BCNHS squad is determined to revive that championship tradition.
BCNHS principal Richard Gelangre lauded the team’s hard work and dedication.
“I’m proud as your principal that you will represent our school and our city at the World Series. Good luck, Coach Lizvi, and thank you to everyone supporting the team,” Gelangre said.
The official roster includes Princess Ablig, Charice Barlita, Jewel Myles Bejar, Hezekiah Cuerda, Karen Benjamin, Chantal Entira, Alexsyres Mariano, Audrey Coleen Matarong, Cryziel Nombre, Jhorena Lee Palermo, Chezka Palmera, and Faith Tamba.
