Negrense Kent Jane Pastrana was among those who will be feted as part of the Collegiate Women’s Basketball Mythical Team at the 2025 San Miguel Corporation-Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) Awards Night at the Discovery Suites Manila in Ortigas, Pasig City on Monday, June 30.
The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses star joined Kacey dela Rosa, Cielo Pagdulagan, Elaine Etang, and Louna Ozar as among those who will receive citations from sports writers covering the collegiate events.
Pastrana, a native of Negros Occidental’s Victorias City, played a pivotal role in UST’s successful run that ended National University’s dominance in the division less than two years ago and gave the Tigresses their first diadem in 16 years.
The 24-year-old versatile guard was a UAAP Mythical Five member from 2023 to 2024.
She was last year’s first-ever CPC’s best female cager before another Mythical Team citation in the third CPC awards.
The Collegiate Press Corps was merged into one umbrella in 2022 from then-separate UAAP and NCAA press associations for decades.
It will also cite the standouts from men’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s football./ASC, WDJ
