A social media influencer in Bacolod City was released from detention after posting bail on Wednesday afternoon, June 25, in relation to cyberlibel charges filed against her.

Cristina Martino, also known as “Langga,” was served an arrest warrant by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office Station 2 on Tuesday, June 24.

Police Station 2 commander Major Eugene Tolentino said the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Richard Bala Balucio of Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Martino posted bail amounting to P72,000 for her temporary liberty.

She is accused of violating Section 4 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10175), specifically cyberlibel under Criminal Case No. 20967.

In February 2024, Martino faced a similar cyberlibel warrant, issued by the court in Laoag.

She was taken into custody by Bacolod authorities at that time.

Martino runs a popular Facebook page, Team Langga.

She previously earned nominations such as Best Female Social Media Influencer.

Martino remains active on social media.

Posts from her Team Langga page strongly defend her, calling the case “nothing more than … legal threats meant to suppress the truth.”

An archived TikTok video captures one of her viral disputes with another female content creator, suggesting friction with other influencers./CJ, WDJ
