The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has resumed physical conditioning activities or “Pulisteniks” this week to promote holistic wellness among its 1,088 personnel.

Captain Ma. Liberty Indiape, public information officer of BCPO, said in an interview yesterday that they invited a fitness instructor to guide them during the exercise sessions held at 3:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

“We hold the ‘Pulisteniks’ at the BCPO covered gym, but it is not limited here. The police stations can also conduct their own physical conditioning activities,” she added.

“Pulisteniks,” a combination of the words “pulis” and “calisthenics,” is a physical conditioning program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) aimed at promoting holistic wellness, emphasizing not only physical fitness but also mental resilience and overall well-being.

In a statement, the BCPO said the program underscores its commitment to ensuring that its personnel remain fit, alert and mission-ready in the performance of their law enforcement duties.

This initiative also fosters camaraderie and teamwork within the organization, it added.

“Pulisteniks” is also part of the police force’s broader internal wellness campaign, reinforcing the value of physical readiness as a foundation for operational excellence and responsive policing.

“A strong and healthy PNP is a dependable PNP. And a dependable PNP is what our country needs,” PNP chief General Nicolas Torre III earlier said on the resumption of the program. (PNA)
