The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts suffered a 25-23, 26-24, 25-21 sweep against the Shaina Nitura-led Adamson University Lady Falcons in an exhibition game at the Ormoc City Superdome in Ormoc, Leyte on Tuesday night, June 17.

The Thunderbolts managed to keep in step with the Lady Falcons in each of the three sets, but it was the veteran smarts and experience of the UAAP-based squad that propelled them to victory.

Nitura, despite coming off a stint with Alas Pilipinas Women in the AVC Volleyball Women’s Nations Cup in Vietnam, still managed to showcase her powerful hits to the delight of the crowd.

The Thunderbolts team were bannered by Ana Ysabelle Hermosura, Alexa Bertolano, Jan Rose Bulak, Remiah Caitlin Espinosa, Rhose Almendralejo, Edz Karylle Escultura, Samantha Sagarbarria, Zelver Banguiao, Jhaennine Mayang, Mary Antonette Bontia, Kara Sophia Feril, and Brianna Nikola Ang.

“It was a great experience for our team to face a UAAP squad like Adamson. Definitely they learned from this game, especially from Nitura, that they can use in our upcoming competitions,” Thunderbolts team manager Jose Montalbo said./ASC, WDJ
