The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) will deploy more than 500 police personnel throughout the province to secure the opening of classes on Monday, June 16.
NOCPPO spokesperson Captain Judesses Catalogo said mobile patrols will be conducted for police visibility while police assistance desks will be established near schools.
At least two police officers will be in charge of the assistance desks on shifting schedules.
“We are preparing this annually as part of our integrated patrol deployment plan,” Catalogo said.
The NOCPPO needs to strengthen police presence near schools to secure students and teaching personnel, he added.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will maximize all their personnel in the city in time for the opening of classes on Monday.
BCPO deputy city director for operations, Colonel Lester Leada, said their security plan will focus on mobile patrols near schools.
Force multipliers from barangays will augment them in securing schools, Leada said./WDJ
