Seven individuals, including a graduating student, were injured when their passenger jeep plunged into a roadside canal at Barangay Salvacion in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town early yesterday morning.
Murcia police chief, Major Sherwin Fernandez, said the jeep departed from the town proper heading towards Central Philippine Adventist College, where the passengers were scheduled to attend a graduation ceremony.
The vehicle was traveling on the Handumanan-Libertad route.
Preliminary police investigation suggests that the right tire of the vehicle accidentally slipped, causing it to veer off the road and fall into the canal.
The victims sustained minor injuries.
All injured passengers were immediately transported to a hospital in Bacolod City, where they received medical treatment./JB, WDJ
