The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported yesterday that P153.546 million in illegal drugs were seized in the past 10 months.
In a summary report, the BCPO said 474 anti-illegal drug operations from July 23, 2024 to May 22, 2025 yielded 22,535 grams of shabu worth P153.24 million.
A total of 2,551 grams of marijuana worth P306,186 were also confiscated.
The BCPO said the operations resulted in the arrest of 605 individuals, including 434 pushers, 167 users, and four minors.
“These accomplishments highlight the relentless efforts of the police in combating illegal activity and maintaining peace and order in the city,” BCPO Director Colonel Joeresty Coronica said in a statement.
Among the latest operations include the seizure of 4.6 kilograms of shabu worth an estimated P31.28 million and the arrest of three suspects in three buy-bust operations on May 19.
Coronica acknowledged the efforts of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council in the campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs.
He is also supporting the institutionalization of an anti-drug education program to make the campaign sustainable. (PNA)
