Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the One Hospital Command System implemented by the provincial government.
“It’s not a perfect system, but it is an evolving system that we will constantly improve. We just have to do some refinements,” Lacson said.
While the system is not perfect, he said it has proven effective.
The provincial government has plans to further improve the system to better serve the public.
Lacson explained that this system was established during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to support health workers and ensure that patients receive appropriate medical care in a timely manner.
Under the One Hospital Command System, patients are enrolled in a centralized database to monitor their condition.
The command center then coordinates with hospitals to find available facilities and doctors, ensuring that patients are immediately attended to upon arrival.
Part of these improvements includes the procurement of additional ambulances, aiming for each town and city in the province to have at least one ambulance, supplementing those already owned by local government units.
