Over P2-M illegal drugs seized in week-long ops

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) seized more than P2 million worth of illegal drugs during a week-long operation from April 7 to 13.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of 231.131 grams of illegal substances across 29 separate police actions, leading to the arrest of 35 individuals.

In addition to the drug busts, the NOCPPO also conducted 20 operations targeting illegal gambling, arresting 69 persons and confiscating P6,812 in bet money.

The campaign against loose firearms yielded the seizure of nine unlicensed firearms, while 17 others were voluntarily surrendered or deposited.

The police intensified efforts against wanted persons, apprehending 13 most wanted persons and 61 other wanted persons during the same period.

This recent haul adds to the ongoing anti-drug campaign in the region, which has seen significant seizures and arrests in recent months.

The NOCPPO continues to coordinate with other law enforcement agencies to dismantle illegal drug networks and curb related criminal activities in Negros Occidental./JB, WDJ
