Negrense Belangel, Daegu bow to Ulsan in KBL

Samjosef Belangel and the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus faltered to the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 84-80, at the close of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) eliminations at the Daegu Gymnasium on Tuesday, April 8.

The Negrense guard finished with 13 points, including a three-pointer, to go with five assists, five steals and a rebound, as the Pegasus concluded the elimination round with a 28-26 win-loss slate.

Pegasus head coach Kang Hyuk said he was happy with the fight shown by his team despite resting their foreign players in preparation for the upcoming quarterfinal round.

“We didn’t have two foreign players. Even so, the players showed their fighting spirit. They didn’t give up and showed the team’s colors until the end,” Kang said.

“I think they showed a good performance in front of the home fans,” he added.

Sean Long led the way for the Mobis Phoebus with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Gaige Prim added 19 markers as they ended with a 33-21 win-loss record.

Shin Seung-min led the way for the Pegasus with 17 points.

Kim Nak-hyun added 14 markers, while Shin Joo-young contributed 10 markers./ASC, WDJ
