The Farm Fresh Foxies bowed out of the PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals contention after a 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21 loss to the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the play-in round at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday night, March 11.

Negrense Alyssa Bertolano finished with nine points to go with 23 excellent receptions and 13 excellent digs for the Foxies, who dropped their opening match in the play-in round.

Victonara Galang led the way with 20 points, comprising 16 attacks, three blocks and one service ace, to be named Player of the Game as the Crossovers topped Pool B with a 2-0 record.

“Masaya kasi nakapasok na kami sa quarterfinals,” Galang said in a post-game interview.

“Pero hindi pa nagtatapos dun. Kailangan pa naming manalo, kailangan pa naming magtrabaho,” she said.

“Pare-pareho lang kami ng mindset, na hindi kami pwedeng matalo. Kaya nung nagkaroon kami ng setback, bumawi kami sa next set kasi hindi pa naman dun natatapos and, thankfully, nakuha namin,” she added.

Ma. Shaya Adorador also shone brightly, contributing 18 points, which included 16 attacks, one block and one service ace.

Princess Anne Robles added 13 points for Chery Tiggo.

As quarterfinalists from Pool B, the Crossovers will face the defending champion Creamline Cool Smashers in a best-of-three quarterfinal series starting next week.

Trisha Tubu led the Foxies with 22 points, supported by Jolina dela Cruz, Rizza Cruz and Lorene Toring, contributing 12 points each./ASC, WDJ
