The Bacolod Team B failed to make history but consoled itself by winning the founders division of the just-ended Philippine Airlines Senior Interclub at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod City.
After leading the first two days, Bacolod wavered in the last two rounds and had to hold off Orchard by a single point.
Bacolod closed with 134 points through the efforts of Armando Eso (48), Calixto de Leon (44) and Woo Sung Seo (42) for a total of 550 points.
Orchard, playing at the Bacolod Golf Club, shot 142 points for 549.
Scoring for the team were Leo Batoon (49), Young Sook Kim (48) and Luis Sajorda (47).
On the other hand, the Negros Occidental Team A settled for a bronze medal finish with 534 points.
Apo Golf captured the aviator division with 471, 13 points ahead of Veterans.
The PAR 2000 Golf Club settled for third with 453.
In the sportswriter class, San Juanico posted a commanding 22-point victory over the Bacolod Team B.
PGA British Columbia took third with 381.
SF East Bay bagged the friendship class despite incurring 14-point penalties.
It aggregated 332, four points ahead of Seattle.
