The Creamline Cool Smashers continued their winning ways in the PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference with a 25-15, 25-19, 27-25 sweep over the Farm Fresh Foxies at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday night, February 11.
Negrense Bernadeth Pons tallied seven points after playing just the opening set as the defending champions Cool Smashers remained on top of the standings with a 9-0 win-loss slate.
Jessica Galanza top-scored for the Cool Smashers with 15 points, on 12 attacks, two service aces and a block.
Kyle Negrito and Alyssa Valdez chipped in eight markers apiece.
After lopsided wins in the first two sets, the Cool Smashers were pushed to the limit in the third set with the score tied at 25-all before Galanza stepped up with back-to-back attacks to seal the win.
“Kinover up lang namin ‘yung isa’t isa. Kung mayroong magkaka-error, kailangang pumuntos agad,” Galanza said in a post-game interview.
“Hindi kami dapat magtuloy-tuloy sa error na hindi namin ine-expect,” she said.
“Malaking bagay talaga ‘yung trust sa loob ng court kasi ‘yun ‘yung nagpapatatag sa iyo sa loob ng court. Sa sobrang tagal namin, nakuha na namin ‘yung trust ng isa’t isa,” she added.
Caitlyn Viray finished with 11 points to lead the way for the Foxies.
Negrense Alyssa Bertolano added eight markers as they dropped to a 4-6 win-loss card./ASC, WDJ
