The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts will attempt their second straight championship as they compete in the Rebisco Volleyball League (RVL) 18-and-Under International Finals at the Gameville Ball Park in Mandaluyong City.

According to Thunderbolts team manager Jose Montalbo, the Western Visayas representatives will continue to give their best following their recent success in the RVL National Finals.

“Of course, the goal is to win the tournament, even if this is much tougher since there will be foreign-based teams,” Montalbo said.

“We will just give our best to claim the championship,” he added.

Among the Thunderbolts’ opponents are Kings Montessori School, University of Batangas, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Nakornnonthaburi Volleyball Club of Thailand, and Northern California Volleyball Association of the USA.

Bannering the Ian Macariola-mentored Thunderbolts is Rhose Vianne Almendralejo, who was awarded the Most Valuable Player and 1st Best Outside Hitter in the RVL National Finals.

The Thunderbolts also completed their quest for back-to-back championships after a straight-set romp over University of Batangas in the finals./ASC, WDJ
