The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings may be one big man short when they begin their PBA Governors’ Cup finals series against the TNT Tropang Giga at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City on Sunday night, October 27.

Negrense forward Joe Calvin Devance is doubtful to play in the best-of-seven title series after injuring his knee in Game 5 of the semifinals against the San Miguel Beermen.

The former PBA top-overall pick was seen walking on crutches during Game 6 of the semifinals last Sunday.

“I got hit by their import,” Devance told the media.

“I initially had no idea about it before my knee began to hurt. I then asked coach Tim [Cone] that I couldn’t continue to play anymore,” he added.

The Negros Occidental’s Escalante City native forward has added to the Gin Kings’ injury woes, joining George Isaac Go, Jamie Malonzo and Jeremiah Gray on the sidelines.
