A week-long anti-drug operation conducted by various units of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) yielded 1,789 grams of shabu and two grams of marijuana, with a total value of over P12 million.

The regionwide campaign also resulted in the arrest of 114 suspects in 84 police operations from September 9 to 15, 2024, PRO-6 said in a statement yesterday.

Police records showed that one of the biggest hauls was in Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City on September 10, where about P1.02 million worth of shabu was seized.

The operation by the Bacolod City Police Office in Barangay Vista Alegre in Bacolod City on September 12 netted around P918,000 worth of drugs, while some P856,800 worth of shabu was confiscated in an operation launched by the Capiz Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit at Barangay Loctugan, Roxas, City on September 13.

The PRO-6 said the recent successes brought the total value of illegal drugs seized in the first two weeks of the month to around P25 million.

From September 1 to 7, some 1,957 grams of shabu and eight grams of marijuana valued at P13 million were seized, and 62 suspects were arrested, it said.

“These accomplishments are a clear reflection of your commitment to your sworn duties. I encourage everyone, both the police and the community, to keep pushing forward and tighten our partnership to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs,” PRO-6 regional director Brigadier General Jack Wanky said.
