The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) suggested that security guards could have the potential to serve as intelligence assets for the police.

NOCPPO director, Colonel Rainerio de Chavez, said security guards have long been considered a force multiplier for the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The PNP is currently conducting training for security guards on how to respond to incidents, and providing valuable information on how to combat criminality.

De Chavez highlighted that security personnel often assist the police while on duty.

To enhance this collaboration, the NOCPPO plans to launch a program called the Oplan Blue Shield.

This initiative will allow security guards to relay information to the police, aiding in the resolution of crimes in Negros Occidental.

The program is still in the planning stages, and the NOCPPO is currently working on its conceptualization./JB, WDJ
