Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director Colonel Noel Aliño has been reassigned to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) effective yesterday, as per special order from the Philippine National Police headquarters.

Aliño will take over as CIDG head, replacing Colonel Joel Manuel Apelo Ana, who had been assigned to the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas.

Aliño has been serving as BCPO director for more than a year, following the reassignment of Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir in April 2023.

Prior to his assignment in BCPO, Aliño was the director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, and station commander of the Manila Police District.

Meanwhile, Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez thanked Aliño for his service and contribution to the city police force.

There has been no announcement about who will take over as BCPO director as of press time./JB, WDJ
