A man took his own life after he hacked his live-in partner and four children in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on Wednesday night, May 22.
Kabankalan police chief Captain Joelan Vinzon said 36-year-old Eumil Francisco, allegedly suffering from a nervous breakdown, hacked his two daughters, two sons and 36-year-old live-in partner Rubelyn Bulandres with a bladed weapon inside their home at Barangay Tapi’s Purok Ibos.
The victims were rushed to the hospital, where they received treatment for their injuries.
Their children, aged six and nine years old, were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital after they sustained wounds in the back and head.
Bulandres and her three-year-old child were taken to the Kabankalan District Hospital, while the one-year-old was discharged from the hospital.
However, Francisco was declared dead on arrival after he succumbed to hack wounds on his stomach.
Vinzon said Francisco had been suffering from a severe nervous breakdown for almost two years./JB, WDJ
