The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will distribute 4,724 Certificates of Land Ownership Award to 2,797 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Negros Occidental on Monday, April 8.
Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III is expected to distribute the titles, covering 2,550 hectares of land, at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in the province’s Bago City.
Estrella also vowed to continue his support for the cause, emphasizing the importance of securing land titles for the farmers.
He also expressed DAR’s dedication to enhancing the livelihoods of Filipino farmers by providing them with resources and support.
“To ensure the ARBs’ success, over P59 million worth of support services will be distributed to 19 ARB organizations in Negros Occidental, which include farm-to-market road projects, Tulay ng Pangulo Para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo [TPKP] and farm machineries and equipment,” Estrella said.
These services are designed to boost the agriculture sector and improve the farmers’ overall well-being.
The TPKP project aims to promote growth and development of the sector by providing farmers with better access to markets, technology and other essential resources.
The initiative is part of the government’s commitment to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s call for providing land titles to farmer-beneficiaries of the agrarian reform program./JB, WDJ
