The Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) will be placed under blue alert status for the Holy Week.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, in his memorandum released on Friday, March 22, said the blue alert status will be in effect from March 27 until April 1.

Law enforcement personnel will be deployed to various places of convergence, such as churches and beach resorts.

Intensified road safety measures will be implemented.

Lacson also urged DRRM Centers in all local government units in the province to secure places of convergence during the period.

He also called on the Negrenses to be careful during their trips.

“El Niño is still around, so let’s keep ourselves hydrated,” Lacson said./JB, WDJ
