A farm caretaker was shot to death at Barangay Concepcion in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City at around 7:00 a.m. yesterday.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Felix Baylocon, a resident of Hacienda Mambucano in the city’s Barangay Cabatangan.

An initial police investigation said Baylocon was on the farm when the suspect suddenly approached and shot him multiple times.

Authorities arrested the suspect during a dragnet operation a few hours after the shooting incident.

Bacolod City Police Office Station 5 commander Captain Portia Nillosan said they arrested 21-year-old John Michael Mutya, a school security guard in Barangay Granada, and a job order employee.

Nillosan said, based on the initial investigation, the incident stemmed from a conflict with the suspect’s friend.

Mutya is in police custody./JB, WDJ
