Statistical leaders have emerged from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses, the frontrunners of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament, following the conclusion of the first round of eliminations.
Negrense Cassie Carballo of the Golden Tigresses leads in both the Best Setter and Best Server categories, while Angeline Poyos tops the Best Spikers category, and Bernadeth Pepito is ahead in Best Receivers.
Carballo leads the Best Setter category, with an average of 4.96 per set, followed by Far Eastern University’s (FEU) Tin Ubaldo (4.07), De La Salle University’s (DLSU) Julia Coronel (3.88), National University’s (NU) Camille Lamina (3.77), and University of the Philippines’ (UP) Heart Magsumbol (3.54).
In the serving department, Carballo also tops the list with an average of 0.48 per set, followed by Poyos (0.44), Coronel (0.36), Magsumbol (0.33), and UST’s Regina Jurado (0.26).
Poyos leads the spiking category with a success percentage of 42.07, followed by Alyssa Solomon of NU (40.00), Shevana Laput of DLSU (39.10), Evangeline Alinsug of NU (38.79), and Bacolodnon Angel Canino of DLSU (36.70).
Additionally, Poyos ranks second in the Best Scorers with a total of 152 points, trailing behind University of the East’s (UE) Casiey Dongallo (158). They are followed by Ateneo de Manila University’s Lyann de Guzman (116), Canino (115) and Solomon (106).
Pepito leads the Best Receiver category with an efficiency of 55.70, followed by Lyka de Leon of DLSU (50.33), Karen Verdeflor of Adamson University (49.75), Alleiah Malaluan of DLSU (48.39), and Mhicaela Belen of NU (47.48).
Additionally, Pepito ranks third in the Best Diggers with an average of 4.04 per set, behind Yesha Capistrano of UP (4.63) and Verdeflor (4.50).
Following Pepito are Belen (3.92) and Negrense Shaira Jardio (3.62) of NU.
DLSU’s Thea Gagate leads the Best Blockers category with an average of 0.68 per set, followed closely by UP’s Niña Ytang (0.67), Adamson’s May Ann Nuique (0.63), UE’s Risa Nogales (0.59), and DLSU’s Shevana Laput (0.56).
