Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School (BNNCHS) ruled the secondary and elementary boys football event of the Iloilo Schools Sports Council (ISSC) Meet at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz, Iloilo City yesterday.
The BNNCHS, representing 4th Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA), emerged as champions in the secondary boys division following a 2-1 victory over Santa Barbara (2nd CDSA) in the finals, courtesy of conversions from Novie Christian Paraiso and Luis Vincent Berezo.
In the semifinals round, the BNNCHS hacked out a 2-0 victory over the Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association, represented by Central Philippine University, with connections from Paraiso and Alwin Bretaña.
Among the members of the BNNCHS secondary booters are Nikho Chavez, Ryne Doromal, Ven Nicko Corbadura, Neil Ian Estampador, Hanz Ycaza, Edrian Ralph Barcelona, Marc Orlex Batisla-ong, and Kent Jelou Belgira.
Also part of the squad of coaches Japheth Buenalatrona and Neigil Ray Belencion are John Marlou Gaverza, Welvin Villacastin, John Lester Aventura, Joshua Jerks Dumdumaya, Vincent Ardeloso, Jaymar Bernarte, and Joshua Lorenz Alvior.
In the elementary division, the BNNCHS hacked out a dominant 4-0 victory over Sta. Barbara in the finals with Bryan Ejar finishing with a hat trick and Andrex Quinn Martinez connecting the other goal.
During the semifinal round, the BNNCHS registered a 3-0 beating of Guimbal (1st CDSA) behind a goal each from Ezekiel Joan Surmieda, Luke Gabriel Derotas and Lemuel Hervas, Jr.
Also on the BNNCHS elementary roster are Fritz Azhryl Chavez, Khyhlle Anthore Yu, Devon Cris Torres, Geric Matthew Jimena, Carl John Betco, and Nijel James Cagampang.
Others in the team of coaches Samson Flores, Jr. and Ariel Bedic are Jashan Myar Unipa, Jhan Ryan Matillano, Nhelro Valderama, Nyel Zano Eribal, Edrian Manos, and Marvin John Lestingio.
The BNNCHS secondary and elementary football teams will represent Iloilo in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Bacolod City this May./ASC, WDJ
