The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is ready to coordinate with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for its investigation into the recovery of remains in Don Salvador Benedicto town on March 9.

NOCPPO spokesperson Lt. Abegael Donasco believed that 29-year-old Allen Palmos was killed somewhere else.

His remains were recovered along the highway at Purok Cobra in the town’s Barangay Igmayaan.

Palmos, a resident of Bacolod’s Barangay Estefania, has previous criminal records related to theft and illegal drugs.

Donasco said they have entrusted the detailed investigation to the Don Salvador Benedicto municipal police.

In a separate statement from Palmos’ friend, he claimed that the victim served several jail terms — at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in the city’s Barangay Taculing, a one-year prison sentence at the Negros Occidental District Jail, and another one-year jail term in Muntinlupa City.

Police said Palmos was the only male sibling of the three children, and all of them were raised by their grandmother as their father passed away early, while their mother abandoned them when they were still kids.

Palmos’ remains have since been turned over to his family after he was positively identified by his sister./DGB, WDJ
