Ilonggo Ferdinand “Thirdy” Ravena and the San-en NeoPhoenix continued their winning streak in the Japan B.League Division 1 after a 75-62 beating of the Shinshu Brave Warriors at the White Ring on Wednesday night, January 31.
The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles guard had a limited impact offensively as he tallied seven points to go with seven rebounds in 26 minutes of action for the NeoPhoenix.
Yante Maten led the way with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. David Dudzinski chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Coty Clarke contributed 14 as NeoPhoenix notched their 12th straight win for a 30-4 record.
Rhon Jay Abarrientos was held scoreless to go with one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes of action, while Matthew Aquino was not inserted the entire game as the Brave Warriors dropped to 6-28.
Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. continued to get his offensive game back as the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (21-13) hacked out an 86-77 victory over Osaka Evessa (13-21) at the Dolphins Arena.
The former TNT Tropang Giga guard came off-the-bench to finish with 12 points, with two outside connections, to go with two rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and a steal for the Diamond Dolphins.
Robert Franks led the way for the Diamond Dolphins with 22 points, with four triples, to go with nine rebounds and four assists, while Takumi Saito and Scott Eatherton contributed 14 markers apiece.
Shawn Long finished with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Takuya Hashimoto added 18 markers, while Makoto Kinoshita and Angelo Caloiaro had 12 and 10, respectively, for Osaka.
Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos’ efficient offensive game went to waste as Levanga Hokkaido (10-24) suffered a 94-82 defeat to the Gunma Crane Thunders (16-18) at the Hokkai Kita-yale.
The Gilas Pilipinas forward finished with 22 points, including three three-point conversions, to go with seven assists, four rebounds, one steal, and a block for Hokkaido./ASC, WDJ
