The president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) in Negros Occidental is planning to pursue legal action against certain individuals involved in the spreading of “black propaganda” against him.
In a radio interview yesterday morning, PACE president Engineer Ruben Diamante said he has already filed a blotter complaint with Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – Cybercrime Division.
He said he will file cyberlibel and unjust vexation charges against individuals behind the smear campaign.
Diamante asserted that those behind the propaganda are some employees at the provincial capitol.
He claimed that they spread text messages, accusing him of being “a dictator, a manipulator and corrupt in handling PACE’s funds.”
“I haven’t done anything wrong against my fellow employees and the union,” Diamante said.
He also clarified that he did not waste the funds, and PACE doesn’t have any outstanding debt.
The PACE president said he is looking at three angles as to why individuals are targeting him.
Diamante said he suspects that one of them may be planning to run as board member in the upcoming PACE polls, supports another candidate over him, or a former PACE member.
He also warned provincial government employees to be cautious of the black propaganda.
Diamante will run as PACE member of the board of directors.
Voting will start this week.
PACE has a total of 2,227 members./DGB, WDJ
