A village in Bacolod City will strictly implement the “no parking” policy on two- and one-lane roads starting January 8 next year.

“Istrikto na kita nga magdumili kag mag-implementar sang no parking policy, 24 hours a day, except kun temporary parking lang sa pila ka minutos,” Barangay Singcang-Airport chief Caesar Distrito said.

The policy is based on the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Memorandum 2019-121, purposely on road clearing.

Distrito said illegally-parked vehicles will be towed by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office.

Corresponding penalties will be imposed.

He added that village officials have designated parking spaces beside the barangay hall, gymnasium or basketball court between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

However, Distrito clarified that parking fees will be charged at the gymnasium and basketball court.

The amount of parking fees will depend on the respective puroks.

“Pasensya na kun kamo madala sang aton operation, pero ini para sa ikatawhay sang mga dalanon nga kitid sang aton barangay, ilabi na dira sa Magsungay,” Distrito said.

“Again, wala diri abyan, pamilya ukon supporter nga exempted. Trabaho lang, walang personalan,” he added.

He said the information campaign for the implementation of the no parking policy has already begun./MS, WDJ
