The Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office is encouraging taxpayers for real properties and business permits to pay in advance to get discounts.

City Treasurer Arlene Memoria said taxpayers could avail of a 20 percent discount if they pay taxes until December 30 for Tax Year 2024, while prompt payment between January 1 and March 31, 2024, will result in a 10 percent discount.

However, penalties will be imposed on payments made after March 31.

For business permits, Memoria said business owners who can make payments on or before January 20, 2024, can avail a 10 percent discount.

However, a 25 percent surcharge will be implemented for late payments.

Memoria clarified that if the Sangguniang Panlungsod submits a resolution extending the deadline for the processing and payments of the business permit, there will be no more surcharge to be imposed.

Meanwhile, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said that the annual Business One-Stop-Shop will be conducted at a mall in the city in January next year./MS, WDJ
