Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr. has ordered the checking of the electrical systems in the city park, after a seven-year-old boy died of electrocution by an open wire from a ground lighting in the premises over the weekend.
Escalante said they have decided to temporarily close down the park to fix the electrical systems until further notice.
The city government was supposed to hold a Christmas lighting ceremony tonight.
Escalante assured the victim’s family that they would receive assistance from the city government.
On Saturday night, December 9, a boy died after he accidentally touched an open wire from the ground lighting inside the park.
Paramedics tried to revive the victim, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the city’s emergency clinic./DGB, WDJ
